Global Warning continues to catch attention

With the publication of the latest story in our series on climate change and national security, Global Warning’s breaking news continues to spread across media outlets. Today, The Washington Post published “Glacier melt in Peru becomes more than a climate issue,” an investigative story by Heather Somerville on the security implications of climate change in the Andes. Dozens of blogs have picked up the story, and publications like Climate Progress and Forbes have linked to the article.

Be sure to check out the Global Warning website for the rest of the stories in the series, first published Jan. 10 in The Washington Post and McClatchy Newspapers. Explore our interactives and be sure to leave a comment.

And we’re not done yet. On Jan. 25, Medill National Security reporter Emmarie Huetteman’s investigation on the nation’s teetering climate observation system will be published in The Washington Post.
